 The world is truly a global village, The Head of the Catholic Church, Pope Benedict XVI officially joined twitter as @Pontifex. The 78 year old christian leader has officially posted his first set of tweets,even though it is unknown if the septuagenarian posted the tweets himself or had some help.

His first ever tweet read:

“Dear Friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart”.
